A little information about Mrs. Hannon
2024-2025
I studied Elementary Education and Educational Leadership at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. I have a Masters in Reading from SUNY Fredonia and continuing coursework in Reading from The Ohio State University. I also have my School District Leader Certification from St. Bonaventure University.
I began my teaching career as a long-term sub teaching Kindergarten at Temple and 2nd grade at Lincoln Elementary in Jamestown. I also taught Comp. Ed. Reading and Math at Love School in Jamestown. I spent 4 years teaching Reading at Fenner Elementary, then took a job as a Staff Development Specialist for Erie 2 BOCES. This exciting adventure led me to The Ohio State University for Reading Recovery Teacher Leader training and the role of Reading Recovery Teacher Leader for 3 years in the Buffalo area.
I was brought back to the Falconer Central School District as a Reading teacher at Temple Elementary in 2005 and have been in the Falconer Central School District for the past 19 years. One of those years, I was a Literacy Coach at Temple and another year I was the District Literacy Coach K-12.
September 2024, starts my 11th year as Principal of Paul B. D. Temple Elementary. My family is proud to be part of the Falconer Central School District. My son Curtis graduated as Salutatorian of the Class of 2023 and is attending the University at Buffalo. My husband is a Special Education Aide and my son J.C. is in 12th grade at Falconer.
I am a proud member of a number of community organizations: Jamestown Community Learning Council (JCLC) Board, Vice President on the Jamestown Area YMCA Board of Directors, and Delta Kappa Gamma Society International. In 2016, I received the Woman of Distinction Award for dedicating my time to improve the lives of children through my professional and volunteer work:)
