Dear Third Grader,
Welcome to third grade at Fenner! I am very excited to have you coming to my classroom this year. We do many fun things in third grade. We raise butterflies, study the weather and water cycle, learn about other countries in our world, and learn cursive and multiplication to name just a few. There are, of course, plenty of good books for us to read and stories for us to write. We will be busy.
My name is Mrs. Julie Pawlak. I love to read, draw and watch good movies. I have three children of my own. My daughter Jordan is living and working in Buffalo. My son Nicholas is studying software engineering at RIT, and my son Cameron is in 12th grade at Falconer High School. Cameron is in the marching band and loves skiing. This summer we are planning to go swimming in our pool, and sit on our patio and roast marshmallows on my firepit. I hope you are enjoying a fun and active summer with your family.
I was excited that second graders had a chance to visit Fenner this year. Our classroom is the one closest to the main office and I will be standing in the hallway looking for you. I can't wait to meet you! Everyday we say a class motto that starts with this line: "Today is a new day and I am going to SOAR, because I know that I am not perfect, but I can learn from my mistakes." Our classroom is all about starting each day with a positive outlook, trying our best and supporting each other's efforts.
Now go out and enjoy the rest of your summer. Get outside and play, go swimming, catch some cool bugs and open a book or two to exercise those brain cells! I hope to see that you have been filling in your reading challenge calender. There are so many good books out there to read! I can't wait to start learning together!
