Speech
* Sounds a 4-5 year old should be making are: p, b, m, w, h, d, k, g, n, ng, y
* Sounds they may be makiing but not always correctly are: s, r, l, sh, j, ch, z, f, th, v
Language - They should be able to:
* understand some propositions such as: in front of, behind
* answer easy how, what and when questions.
* follow directions with three steps, such as 1)open the drawer, 2) get the shirt, and 3) bring it to me.
* understand up to 2800 words.
* put things into categories such as foods, clothes, things you read, things you ride on.
* use sentences with five to eight words.
* use pronouns: he, she, I ,you, me, mine, our, they, their.
* ask how, why and when questions.
* use is, are and am in sentences.
* use contractions such as can't, won't.
* use present progressive (is + ing) is walking, is reading.
* use regular plurals: socks, shoes.
