     Welcome to First Grade!  My name is Mrs. Vicky Boughton and I love teaching children!  In first grade you will learn to use the letter sounds from kindergarten to read words big and small, long and short.  You will also learn to communicate by writing, which is a very exciting experience.  In math we learn all about fact families/number bonds, word problems, graphs, charts, time, money, tangrams,  and so much more.  History and science go hand in hand during our listening and learning portion of the day.  We explore ancient civilizations, outer space, the human body systems, and early exploration, just to name a few of our daily studies.
