    POSITION:                             SCHOOL BUSINESS ADMINISTRATOR

    LOCATION:                            Falconer Central School District

    STARTING DATE:                   April 1, 2019 (or as acceptable to both parties)

    SALARY RANGE:                    Competitive salary based upon education and experience



    • Any of the following New York State certifications:  SBA, SDA, SDBL (or qualify for the Certificate of Internship for the SDBL) or meet Civil Service qualifications;
    • Strong leadership, communication and problem solving skills;
    • Experience in supervision, budgeting, facility upkeep, transportation operations, capital construction projects, and cafeteria operations is desirable;
    • Demonstrated experience using technology as management/business/finance tool;
    • Demonstrated ability to work as a member of an administrative team;
    • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools finds appropriate.



    • Responsible for the overall operation of the district business office, food service program, buildings and grounds department and pupil transportation;
    • Assists the Board of Education and the Superintendent of Schools in the development of the school budgets and provides all related financial and payroll functions which includes monitoring cash flow and investments, developing policies and procedures for general accounting, record keeping, purchasing, disbursement and custody of district funds;
    • Responsible for evaluation, training and supervision of the business office and Supervisors of school services;
    • Analyze and monitor on a daily basis the financial condition of the district and take corrective action as necessary by performing certain tasks or making recommendations for a change in the status of operations;
    • Responsible to complete and file various local, state and federal reports required on a timely basis;
    • Review major expenditures, grant approvals and school code requirements;
    • Responsible for the coordination of the facility expansion or renovation programs;
    • Serve as Chief Fiscal Advisor to the Superintendent of Schools and School Board providing advice/counsel on matters relating to the fiscal and business affairs of the school district;
    • Attendance at all Board of Education meetings;
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.
