Classifying Living Things
Organism—a living thing Kingdom—the largest and most general grouping
Phylum—a main group within a kingdom, whose members share a common characteristic
Species—a group of similar organisms that reproduce more of their own kind
Scientific Name—a unique name given to every living thing. The name is formed by combining the genus and species.
Vascular – plants that have veins or tubes in their roots, stems, and leaves.
Nonvascular – plants that do not have veins or tubes.
