The JCC EN1530/1540 courses are two one-semester courses offered during the senior year. As these courses are higher caliber collegiate credit-bearing courses, students must test into the 1530 course. Upon successful completion of this fall semester course, students will be afforded the opportunity to continue the JCC program via the 1540 course during the spring semester.
The EN1530 course, College Composition II, is a writing intensive course that embodies critical thinking and analytical skills, in order to synthesize collegiate level writings. The course also includes the completion and presentation of a formal research paper.
The EN1540 course, Writing About Literature, is a continuation of writing skills from semester one. However, the writing is more literature-based in this course, with a more multi-faceted approach. Please note the syllabus and/or week by week approach for more detailed information.
